What gives you cozier feet than handmade slipper-socks? (That’s a rhetorical question)socks2

The pattern I used is available here. I slightly adjusted some stitches but they are mainly made by using single crochet stitches (pink) and double crochet stitches (grey). See below for my adjusted ‘pattern’.

Abbreviations:
Ch=chain
Sc= single crochet
St=stitch
Slst=slipstitch
Dc=double crochet
Sc2tog= single crochet two stitches together

Toes:
– Round1: 6ch, 1sc in second ch from hook, 1sc in next 3st, 3sc in next st, 1sc in next 3st, 2sc in next st, slst in first sc to join.
– Round2: 1ch, 2sc in next 2st, 1sc in next 3st, 2sc in next 3st, 1sc in next 3st, 2sc in next st, slst in first sc to join.
– Round3: 1ch, 1sc in next st, 2sc in next st, 1sc in next 3st, (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)3x, 1sc in next 3st, (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)2x, slst in first sc to join.
– Does it fit around your toes? If yes, continue to Round4. If not, crochet an additional round: 1ch, 1sc in next st, 2sc in next st, 1sc in next 3 st, (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)4x, 1sc in next 3 st, (1sc in next st, 2sc in next st)4x, slst in first sc to join.
– Round4&5: 1ch, sc in every st, slst in first sc to join.

Foot:
– Round6: 1ch, dc in every st, slst in first dc to join.
– Repeat Round6 until it reaches your instep.
– Then crochet: 1ch, dc in next 15 st, 15ch*, slst in first dc to join (*the number 15 depends on how many stitches your sock has in one round, divided by 2).
– In the next rounds, you crochet the leg part: 1ch, dc in every st, slst in first dc to join.
– Repeat until it reaches your desired length. Finish off with a few rounds as follows: 1ch, sc in every st, slst in first sc to join.

Heel:
– Make sure you have the sock inside out. Start with: 1ch, sc in every st, slst in first sc to join.
– Next, divide the number of stitches by 2, this number minus 4 is called A.
– Start a new round: 1ch, 1sc in next A st, sc2tog, 1sc in next A st, sc2tog, slst in first sc to join.
– For the next rounds, repeat previous round use A minus 1, next round A minus 2, etc. until you have created a full heel. Use sc or slst to join the heel.
